Revival Begins With Us
Revival does not always begin with a large event. Sometimes it begins much smaller — in one home, one family, one church, or one person deciding to step out and serve.
For us, that foundation began when we were young. We had opportunities to help in Sunday school and be involved in church, and those experiences helped build the foundation of our faith. We learned by doing. Serving alongside others showed us at a young age that we could have a part in the work of God. That is something we hope to pass on to another generation.
Starting with our family — and hopefully yours too.
Let's give our children and grandchildren opportunities to participate. They can help in Sunday school, hand out Bibles, prepare outreach materials, help serve food, pack supplies, pray for others, or simply come alongside us as we serve our communities. Let them see what it means to be the hands and feet of Jesus.
Invite your family, friends, neighbors, or members of your church to join you. When young people grow up participating in outreach, they learn that following Jesus is not limited to what happens inside the four walls of a church. They discover that they have a part in the Great Commission too.
Start small. Give out Bibles together.
Help someone who is struggling.
Visit someone who is lonely.
Serve at a shelter.
Encourage a neighbor.
Pray with someone.
Invite another family to come along.
One act of outreach may inspire another. A child may develop a heart for missions. A friend may begin serving. Another family may start an outreach of their own. A church may become more involved in its community.
That is how the Great Commission continues — from one person to another, one family to another, one church to another, and one community to another.
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations…"
— Matthew 28:19 (NIV)
We invite you to be part of it. Start with the people God has already placed around you — your family, your friends, your neighbors, or your church. Bring someone along, give them an opportunity to serve, and encourage the next generation to discover the joy of helping others.
You never know what God may grow from one simple act of obedience. What begins with your family could touch another family, inspire someone else to begin an outreach, and carry the love of Jesus farther into your community.
Come join us. Let's serve together, encourage one another, and help bring the Great Commission to life — one family and one community at a time.
